Some shots from the States

3/13/06

So a bunch of folks have been wondering what i have been up to since i have been in the States...so i decided to include some pictures from my travels and fun times here....the biggest news that i have at the moment though is that i am headed to Romania...i will be teaching 7th and 8th grade science and math at the American International School of Bucharest...i have signed a contract with this chool for the next two years and have a great set of benefits and a bunch of cool folks to get to know and work with....its a very exciting next step...if you are interested in seeing the school up close and personal, i have included their website for your perusal...i told the headmaster that the selling point of the school is the indoor slide that both students and teachers can use to get from the second floor to the first floor without using the stairs....how awesome is that :) enjoy the site and let me know what you think....
here are some of the folks i have visited with in the past three months :) they ought to be in pictures...and lo and behold...they are....drum roll please....

here is my friend catherine graciano from my summer at the pole, with her dog tucker....she is hanging with her folks and dog in NH at the moment and is running her own radio show for portsmouth, NH...check it out if you can...she's on early on wed and thurs...it was great hanging with her and meeting her folks...

this is the moore family...who also live in NH....mike, daniel and judy...and of course the chocolate lab is zoe...even she posed for the picture....we had a fun 24 hours together...judy is a friend of mine from boston university...those were the days.....hahahahahahahere is the Bushway family...who also live in NH....must be a good place to live...i didn't get to spend a ton of time with them...but the time i did spend was fun...plus, due to where Scott works...i got to deal black jack the night before...you gotta love it....Scott is also a friend of mine from the good ole BU days....

here are some more friends of mine...flo and bob...from beverly, MA...we had a tasty indian dinner in salem...and it was great to hang out with them...if you see them or talk with them soon, be sure to say congratulations...as they got engaged this past year....yahoo!!!! aren't they cute in their matching robes...you gotta love it!!!!
next up is my past student and current friend jamie webber....she is currently a freshman at northeastern...who lost in the beanpot i might add...we also went out for indian fare on newbury street...what a great time it was seeing her...i taught her when she was in eighth grade...my real question to her is "when the hell did you get so tall???" yes...she plays basketball too :)

the last shot in this set is also with a past student/current friend...who is also a freshman this year...anna deregt...she is a freshman at swarthmore...and that is about 30 minutes from my house in pennsylvania...we went out for tasty thai food....i also taught anna when she was in eighth grade...i am starting to feel old....plus, i think its funny i am wearing the same shirt with the past students....what the heck???? anna is playing on swarthmore's lacrosse team and i am hoping to catch some of her games...if you are in the area, you should too....just tell her i sent you!!!! hope you enjoyed the shots this time around from the states...more soon, i promise

hey there folks...dani here...sorry it has been so long since i last wrote...but things in my life the past month have been a bit hectic...folks are still asking to see more pictures...so here are some from chaing mai in thailand...none of these are my very own pictures...as mine were erased from my disk when i was in egypt...but slowly i am putting some together from friends i met along the way and other friends i know who stopped there and went to the same places as me...enjoy the shots...

here is a shot of me with a wooden elephant in chaing mai....there were tons of these all over the country...i really loved them....
this is a picture of rusty and tyler hippchen from alaska...i hung out with them and crista, who is taking the picture, the entire time i was in chaing mai...it was cool to meet other fun americans who were traveling throughout northern thailand...and tyler won the hearts of every thai person that came in contact with him :) it was wild.... this one is of crista and i cooking at the thai chocolate cooking school...we didn't make anything with chocolate, but we sure made some tasty thai treats...yummy!!!! this last one is of me...with some of the finished products from cooking class....one of the best things about cooking classes in thailand is that you get to eat everything....one of the worst things about cooking classes in thailand is that you get to eat everything...talk about being full when the day is over...whew...we made about 8 different dishes...and all of them were yummy!!!
